I worked for NAA Foundation for 6 years on youth content, student newspaper and diversity projects, I left NAA Foundation in 2001 to go back into higher education. I had come to NAAF from the University of Iowa where I had been on the faculty and directed high school journalism programs for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
After a brief stint at Ball State University, I went back to my home state in 2002 to become head of the South Dakota State University Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. As part of my sabbatical from SDSU for this spring semester, I’m pulling together a report on the state of NIE in 2010.
